Grand Hyatt Vail appoints Kevin Shields new General Manager
Industry veteran Kevin Shields brings 30 years of experience to leadership team.
VAIL, CO. – Grand Hyatt Vail, a 285-room all-seasons resort at the base of Vail Mountain, announces the appointment of Kevin Shields to General Manager. Shields will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintaining the property’s reputation for five-star hospitality and personalized service.
Boasting an impressive 30-year tenure, Shields is a high-energy hospitality leader with a special skillset and passion for building strong internal cultures to support and enrich the overall guest experience. Shields joins the team most recently from All Points North Lodge in Edwards, CO where he was the Director of Hospitality and Chief Operations Officer. Shields has held leadership titles across the country including notable time spent as Regional General Manager with the Kessler Collection in Beavercreek and Savannah, and numerous general manager and operations roles at resorts in New York, Las Vegas and Park City. His refined expertise in food and beverage operations will be an asset to Grand Hyatt Vail’s expansive F&B offerings including Gessner Restaurant and Bar, Fireside Lounge, a soon-to-open Japanese restaurant concept and robust catering and private dining programs. Shield’s diversified background includes experience in condominium construction management and HOA.

Shields is an avid outdoors person, and enjoys hiking, skiing and biking with his three sons in the Vail Valley and beyond.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
She has many years of both academic and industrial experience within the travel industry. She has written/edited numerous articles in various tourism magazines.
