Record season for IOBUS with 350.000 passengers and the winning formula of ‘experiential tours’ in the large and small excellences of Italy
On board the new and elegant openbuses one will be able to listen to an exciting story of the IOBUS cities in various languages.
What will soon end for IOBUS, the all-Italian company of urban tours on board open buses, is a year to remember: during the 2023 season, in fact, the operator transported a total of around 350 thousand passengers on urban tours in Rome, Milan, and other cities like La Spezia and Matera, the large and small Italian excellences where the IOBUS startup currently operates, launched just eighteen months ago.
“This is a flattering result” comments the President of IOBUS, Giuseppe Cilia “which rewards a professionally tested staff who believed in this new adventure from the beginning and which attests to the validity of our product chosen by thousands of Italian and foreign tourists. And it is also the tangible recognition of a model of collaborations with important and reliable local operators such as Milan Open Tour, an expert in Lombard incoming, SAT di Viaggi Capa and Aloschi Bros, historic operators involved in the tourist development of La Spezia, Porto Venere and Lerici, and like the incoming operator Martulli Viaggi of Matera.”
Operational results achieved also thanks to the innovation introduced in the services provided to tourists, as Fabiola Cilia, General Manager of IOBUS says “We made use of the professionalism of partners such as the Vox Group which developed the “POPGuide”, a digital guide in 8 languages with over 100 points of interest, usable from a smartphone and customisable, which allowed all IOBUS ticket holders, to explore the eternal city both on board the buses and through thematic walking routes through the pedestrian streets of the historic center of Rome, which can be selected by visitors based on their preferences. We then set up a guide specifically designed for children with historical testimonials of Julius Caesar and the Goddess Venus that tell the story of the city. We also offer supports with directions to the attractions, and a booklet of thematic itineraries for ‘walking tours’, with high-profile content, created by art historians and enthusiasts of roman history. Completing our winning team effort is another technological partner, the Intent group, which has created a system capable of ensuring the automation of all ticket sales.”
